Keeping in view the essence of basic health and menstrual hygiene among women and girls in North East Delhi’s Brijpuri locality, The Women Education & Empowerment Trust (TWEET) in collaboration with Health care department of Human Welfare Foundation organized awareness program cum health checkup on 02nd October 2022.
Ms Shaista Rafat, General Secretary-TWEET briefed about the program. She also shared as how still the community thinks about this monthly procedure and various misconceptions and taboo attached to this.
Dr Eram Khan of Alshifa Multispeciality Hospital, interacted with women and girls on what they know and think about menstrual hygiene and importance of using of sanitary napkins during the periods. She further explained on meaning of Health and how it is important to not only fit physically but also emotionally, psychologically, socially etc. “We must take proper nutrition and rest as we are doing hard work and also go through lot of stress”, she said.
